THE Department of Tourism (DOT) in Iloilo City said China’s travel ban for the Philippines is affecting the tourism industry in Boracay. DOT regional director Helen J. Catalbas said the travel ban affected massive cancellations of more than 20,000 hotel room bookings of Chinese tourists from September 13, 2014 to March 2015 and approximately lost some P165 million in Boracay alone.
